With our gardeners covering so many beautiful towns and villages in the South, we thought it would be great to take a closer look at some special days out in a selection of areas. We start with the beautiful historic town of Farnham, located in the borough of Waverley, Surrey- which boasts a castle, beautiful Georgian architecture, and a host of wonderful gardens to boot.

NGS Snowdrop Day, Sunday 24th February- 11-4.30pm, Chawton House

Chawton House is opening the garden for a special viewing of the snowdrops, as part of the National Gardens Scheme (NGS), an inspiring programme that organises the opening of outstanding gardens around the country to raise funds for charity.

Refreshments will be available for purchase in the tearoom.

Tickets: £5; Children (Under 16) Free. No advance booking required.

Tickets to the house will be available for the additional admission price of £5.

Emma Dunbar- Colour in the Snow, New Ashgate Gallery, Farnham, Saturday 12th January, 10:00am – Until Saturday 23rd February, 5:00pm

If you love anything to do with flowers or plants, epecially in art form, then head to Emma’s show at the New Ashgate Gallery. The exhibition will feature all seasons, and for the first time, she has prepared a substantial new body of work, exploring colour in the snow, making this show a special treat to collectors, flower and art lovers alike.

Winter opening – Wednesdays and Sundays only – 11am – 4pm.

Summer opening (March to the beginning of November) – Wednesday to Sunday plus Bank Holiday Mondays 10am-5pm

The Rural Life Centre is a museum of past village life in the period 1750
to 1960. It is set in over ten acres of garden and woodland, housed in
purpose-built and reconstructed buildings including a chapel, cricket
pavilion and school room.
