Horticulture is a rewarding and diverse industry to work in – we can vouch for that! But for many people who come to gardening later, after successful careers elsewhere or raising a family, it can be difficult to know how to find a route into the profession.
At Grayshaw & Yeo supporting amateur gardeners and career-changers to gain confidence, broaden their skills and become established in the gardening industry is at the very heart of what we do. We know that career-changers often bring a wealth of life-skills and experience to their work and (more often than not) a life-long love of plants, nurtured despite having other priorities and commitments.
So we were thrilled to be invited to attend RHS Wisley’s Career Changers Day in early November this year, which showcases the fantastic opportunities and careers that are available in horticulture today. From plant scientist, biodiversity officer or park ranger to farmer, florist or landscaper – the list of jobs and possibilities is long and varied.
In the coming weeks we’ll be posting more on the website about careers in horticulture, but in the meantime if you want to find out more visit the RHS website here.
